Aloha Surf Nosara was founded with the goal of offering vacationers in Costa Rica a place to stay and learn how to surf. Tyler and his team at Aloha Surf Nosara strive to ensure that guests have a wonderful time in Costa Rica and get to experience the thrill of surfing. Although Tyler, his wife, and their children have since returned to Hawaii, their vacation rentals continue to be a popular choice for travelers.
Looking to learn how to surf? We can help connect you with surf lessons to get you started. And if you’re lucky enough to be in town when Tyler is around, he may even be able to give you a lesson himself!

About Tyler Marsh
Founder of the first surf school in Playa Guiones, certified by International Surfacing Association (ISA)
Tyler Marsh was born and raised in Oahu, Hawaii, and he takes immense pride in his upbringing and nurturing which is genuinely centered on respect and family. He considers his Ohana (Family) and respecting other people as integral and fundamental components of his life. In the 90s he became acquainted with a small town in Costa Rica, Playa Guiones Nosara, where he met his wife, Arlene, and together they have three boys, Kahala, Kalani & Keoni.
Tyler has surfed around a number of beaches and Islands that included Hawaiian Islands, Tahiti, Fiji, Indonesia, Mexico, Mentawai Island, Maldives, Nicaragua, Panama, El Salvador, and Australia. Tyler was determined to start his own surfing school and accommodation center to assist the tourists to become acquainted with the fun and beauty in the tropical areas. Due to his determination and input, Honuakai came into existence.

He is a well-known and expert surfer, and he is accountable for organizing the first and foremost Tournament of Surfing that featured a surfing champion; Sunny Garcia World Champ 2000.
